Rev. John Boddie is pastor of two churches:
the Church of the Visitation and the Church of Francis de Sales,
which is located in Mathews County.
Born in Newport News, Va., July 11, 1958,
Father Boddie attended the city's public primary schools and
graduated from Peninsula Catholic High School in 1977. He
graduated from St. Meinrad College in 1983 with a bachelor's
degree in history. He graduated from St. Mary's Seminary and
University in 1988 with a master's of divinity. He was ordained
May 14, 1988, as a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.
In June 1997, Father Boddie was appointed pastor of the two
parishes.
He succeeds Father Dougher, the founding
pastor who served until October 1989, and Father Dan Bond, who
served as pastor until June 1997.
